This is Niko.   Shes a 9 week old German Shepherd puppy with a horrible congenital heart murmur.  This type of murmur, a PDA, is something that if fixed , would allow her to live a full , long life.  Without surgery, it is likely that she won't make it more than 6 months.   Her options right now are either euthanasia or going to a cardiac specialist for her heart surgery.  Total estimated costs for all of this will exceed $5000.  We are hoping to have some of the costs covered with your help.   

We have contacted both Cornell and another local specialty hospital to discuss Niko and hopefully get her set up for surgery.  We are hoping to get her to one of these hospitals this week or early next week as the sooner she has the surgery, the better her chances are of surviving.
