Help Katie Fight Breast Cancer

Hello, my name is Colleen Martyn, and I am raising funds for my beautiful, strong, and faith-filled daughter, Katie VanBelle. Katie has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (ER/PR+ and HER2-). While we are grateful that this type of breast cancer is considered slow-growing, it is still one of life’s hardest battles.

Katie’s husband, Kevin, has been her rock through this storm, and together with our family and friends, we are surrounding her with as much love and support as possible. But as many of you know, cancer takes more than an emotional and physical toll—it creates a heavy financial burden as well.

Katie is prayerfully considering her surgical options while also working closely with her holistic doctor on a treatment plan designed to strengthen her body for the battle ahead. The treatments come at a significant cost. On top of that, as an independent contractor, Katie doesn’t have sick days or vacation pay. While she would like to keep working a normal schedule, the reality is she will not be able to maintain this while undergoing treatment and will be out of work for some time. The treatment is costly and arduous.

How You Can Help

This fundraiser is to help ease that overwhelming financial burden so Katie can focus on what matters most: healing and recovery. Your generosity will go directly toward:

• Medical and holistic treatment costs not covered by insurance. Some of these costs include things necessary for her to heal such as: $5,000 for initial treatment costs and doctor visits and $1,500 a month for the duration of her treatment.

• Doctor appointments and necessary tests to monitor her progress.

• Bills, basic living expenses, and groceries. Katie will be on a very specific nutritional program that will cost approximately $1,200 a month.

• Lost wages from the work Katie is unable to do during treatment.
