Sarah's PCT Pilgrimmage

Hi all! I may not know you, and you may not know me, but we are both friends with a really amazing woman named Sarah Sauer.
When I look back on my life, I find so many times that I couldn't have survived without her love, prayer, generosity, and powerful example. I'm positive that she's had an impact on your life much like she has on mine - in one way or another.
As you may (or may not!) know, Sarah is planning to hike the Pacific Crest Trail next April through September. If anyone has read the book or seen the movie Wild, you know that what she is about to undertake is an extraordinary adventure. It will test her toughness in every single way. It will allow her to reach new depths within herself that she didn't know existed. She will experience pain, extasy, lonliness, fullness, exhaustion, and exhilaration like she never has in her life - perhaps like none of us ever will! It's something she needs right now. I truly believe it's where a tremendous amount of healing is going to take place for her.
Preparing for something like this involves lots of planning, both logistically as well as financially. She works very hard at Sun and Soil (as well as various freelance work here and there) and she is probably THE most frugal person I (we) know, but I believe in my heart it's not enough. I'd like for her to be able to buy what she needs to be safe and as comfortable as possible on her hike. I'd like for her to know that she doesn't have to work her hands to the bone preparing for this trip in order to survive before/during/after. And I'd like for her to have peace about knowing that when she is done in the Fall, she has a little money tucked away to get her back on her feet in society.
She has been so generous with SO many of us with not just her time and money, but her LIFE. If this is a small way that we can give back, let's do it!
