Desiree’s Road To Recovery ❤️
Donation protected
My sister, Desiree, who we all know would never ask for help for herself, who helps everyone with anything they could possibly need, needs our help today.
You may have seen her post today, letting us know that she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. If you didn’t see it, I’ll include it below for better explanation. What she didn’t mention in her post, is that the surgery on Dec 11th, requires thousands of dollars the day of the surgery, and then many more in bills to follow. Desiree and Charlie have the bare minimum in medical coverage and nothing involving her treatment is covered.
So, Desiree and Charlie, the people who donate their time, energy, love and financial support whole heartedly into every project for our kids, every problem that needs fixing, every request for help from friend or stranger, desperately need our help.
I know we are all looking for ways to help and share our love. Jenna and Holly are putting together a Meal Train sign-up if anyone would like to cook or order out for them, while she is recovering. I’ll tag them in this post if you’d like to be a part of that, please contact them. If you’d like to help financially, please, please help us out in this Go Fund Me. Even if all you have is $5, it is so appreciated! It all adds up! We love you all and thank you so much for your help and love and any sharing of this fundraiser to reach everyone that might want to help.❤️
Desiree’s Announcement Post describing what’s going on follows:
This is the hardest post EVER for me. And not one I ever intended to make, but my super supportive, loving friends and family have encouraged me to do it for many reasons that just make sense. I know they are right and it needs to be done...it's just really hard. so here goes....
I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of October....that is such a difficult statement for me to see actually typed out. It's two different types of cancer. Both on my right side, both are non-aggressive and both are "curable". I am having surgery on December 11th and it will be a double mastectomy. They did find a smaller spot on my left side in the MRI but are unsure at this point if it is benign or malignant. One of the types of cancer I have is usually bilateral (grows in both breasts), so to eliminate the possibility of it coming back or appearing (possibly more aggressive) on the left...I'm electing to remove them both. The emotions that come along with all of this are absolutely incredible to maintain...and it's really freaking hard. All my doctors assure me I will be ok, but I'm still scared out of my mind.
Lady friends...please, please go get checked! This was my first mammogram ever and I'm 44...that's too long to wait! My oncologist said this cancer has been there for at least a year if not a year and a half!! With it being non-aggressive, I caught it in an early stage, but had it been more aggressive I would not be in the relatively positive prognosis place I am.
My sweet friends Holly LeRouge Eubanks and Jenna Irwin Green and my sister Racheal Johnson are helping to put together help for me after the surgery. I am not in any way implying that anyone NEEDS to help, but they insist there will be those who will want to have helped so please contact them if you wish to contribute to what they are doing. Honestly, I just want you all to keep me in your prayers, thoughts, well wishes, send me love and light, or however you express sending your loved one's good intentions into the universe...I will gratefully accept all I can get right now. Love you all friends <3
