Luis Pajuna Pathway to Recovery
Donation protected
Luis Pajuna and his young daughter came to NY from Ecuador while his wife and two other children remained behind. Recently, Luis was attacked during a robbery in his apartment in Brooklyn and was thrown off the fire escape. He sustained a serious head injury which required surgery (a craniectomy). He has improved quite a bit and has been released from the hospital, but will need weeks if not months to fully recover, including physical therapy and occupational therapy as well as, perhaps, speech therapy. Right now he remembers his co-workers and he is speaking and doing some assisted walking.
We are setting a goal to raise enough funds
that we can cover his lost. Additionally we will be trying to pay for his recuperation process. Our own company will be doing fundraisers here and there and we hope we can pull in more contributors through this site. We have already held one soccer game as a company outing and were able to raise three weeks pay for Luis. It is a very sad situation but perhaps we can all together turn this into a story about perseverance, community and togetherness.
