Murex & Lembeh Resort Christmas Gift Campaign

We have been overwhelmed by people’s messages and support from around the world since the COVID19 pandemic began. This campaign is created for our staff, many of whom have been with us for several years, to ask guests who would like to send a Christmas gift.

Murex Resort Manado, Murex Bangka and Lembeh Resort have cooperated for almost 18 years and our staff teams are like family. Prior to COVID, we employed 255 staff between the three resorts.  As with many businesses, but especially the tourism industry, we have had a challenging 2020.



North Sulawesi has strong traditions and although festive gatherings will be limited this year, Christmas is still an important religious celebration and a special time for families and communities.  People here are resilient and happy and a small donation goes a long way to make a big impact to a family.

Once international borders shut down we began creating new initiatives to provide alternate employment positions for our staff. As a company, we sadly provided severance packages to many people in April. However, we have successfully retained 60 team members who are working on renovations, construction and organic farming as well as other projects in some of our existing departments.



We remain committed to trying to assist as many people as possible.  We have also provided each staff member with safe water filters which negates the need for them to purchase fresh drinking water.  

Our goal through this campaign is to provide staff with a much -needed boost and enable them to provide for their families, worry-free over the festive season.  



Whatever is raised through this platform will be divided equally between the 255 people who were employed by us when this crisis began – and we thank each and every one of you who donates.

Christmas is a very special time in North Sulawesi when traditionally, our teams are finally able to kick back and relax. We hope that, with your help, this continues this year and we look forward to a brighter Christmas around the world in 2021.
