Hello, my name is Krismarie, and I am doing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister Maria Rodriguez. Maria Rodriguez is a 35-year-old woman, wife and mother of 3 beautiful children. She serves as an elementary school teacher in Texas who has been battling Polycystic Liver Disease for several years. Maria was admitted to a hospital in FT Worth mid-November due to chronic pain and nausea. Her liver had become so enlarged that it started affecting the rest of her body organs, such as the stomach and lungs. Her condition quickly deteriorated, causing her to need an oxygen tank 24/7, causing severe malnutrition and extreme weight loss. At this point, they told our family there was nothing that could be done in this hospital, as the only thing that could save her was a Liver transplant. She got transferred to a hospital in Dallas that specialized in transplants, where she was placed on the waiting list and got her breathing problems stabilized. She was discharged and sent home to await her liver transplant and be with her family. At this point, Maria needs constant care from an adult as she cannot care for herself due to her condition. Therefore, she is unable to continue working in the short term. We believe in a God of love and miracles, and our faith is placed in him to help her heal.
