My name is Shilo Hill I'm Onondoga Beaver Clan from Six Nations of the Grand River based in Toronto.

I'm a Land Defender held it down at Kanonhstaton (2006), Standing Rock (2016-2017), Gidimt’en Checkpoint Feb 7th 2020, 2021)and in my time on the frontlines from de-escalating a high risk situation from Kyle Thompson an armed (AR15) security guard working for Dakota Access Pipeline, sprayed with a water cannon and shot by rubber bullets (Nov 20th 2016) arrested in Wet’suwet’en territories by 100 militarized RCMP in 2020 and bounced the RCMP off Coyote Camp with fellow Haudenosaunee. I share my experience to highlight my love and dedication to the Lands, Water and People...I turn my resistance/frontline to my small business Turtle island co. Located at 151 Augusta ave in Kensington market. Turtle Island Co. is an Indigenous owned staple business in the community of Kensington Market with Indigenous products and Indigenous artists creations jewelry, paintings, soaps and lotions.

I'm calling on Allies and supporters to help a Land Defender through a turbulent time in my life (stress has been very intense for a little while)

I recently have faced some unforeseen and unfortunate events that led to money and product missing along with the impact of inflation on the economy it has affected our ability to cover the rent this month and part of next month, which hurts as I give back to the community at every turn and sell products for cheap and affordable prices to meet people’s needs in these hard times, this is a time we could really use some support back so I can keep our doors open and continue to serve the community, keep our jobs and support our family, everything is greatly appreciated as I navigate this unfortunate hurdle I find with maintaining a small business.
