Hi, my name is Jessica and I am fundraising to help pay for my dad’s passing expenses on behalf of my mother Michelle Liu. 

On July 1st, he was brought into the emergency room and was diagnosed with a stroke and could not move his right side. Back then, he could still talk, eat, and control his own secretions. After a few days, the doctors thought he was medically stable and transferred him to an acute rehabilitation facility. There he got second and third strokes in a matter of 2 days and was getting worse by the day. 

The doctors told us that both his major blood vessels were blocked and his chances of recovery were very low. He became medically unstable and was then transferred back to a hospital closer to home. They then determined he was stable and yet again after a couple weeks, sent him out of the hospital, this time to a skilled nursing facility. In only 3 days, he developed a high fever and got taken to the emergency room for resuscitation. 

At first, they were able to get his heart going again, but then it would stop shortly after. Eventually they could not get it back and he was pronounced deceased on the night of August 9, 2021. He was just about to turn 60 in a few weeks. We never gave up on him but I guess it’s time to accept the fact that he’s an angel now. 

If you’ve been following our story, you know that we were going to use these funds to pay for his medical expenses and long term care. However, my mom and I decided that we are going to focus on memorializing his life first with this money and then go from there.
