On May 22, 2019 my life was flipped upside down .
I have been going thru a very difficult time since that day, as some of you know I moved into my moms home to help do a 24 hrs home health care as she is known to have falls and was living 15 miles from town it was no longer safe for her to be alone. She has just had a knee replacement surgery and she fell and broke her hip a few months back . My mom is a beautiful elderly disabled strong woman who taught me that you take care of your family. I also am taking care of my Bobby, hes not legally my husband but we have been thru life for the last 9 years together. He is a retired army veteran who is also disabled and his health has been declining the last 2 years drastically. He has seizures and was recently in a diabetic coma after his sugar reached 1008 . Hes been in and out of the va in Denver and Colorado springs for the last year and a half doing countless tests to try to get a diagnosis. Hes symptoms are the same as with ALS . I am also raising my 16 year old daughter who has been thru so much trauma and still has a smile most days. I am 18 days from my 2 years clean and sober birthday which I refuse to be nothing but proud of myself about. I am a recovering addict and alcoholic and I know struggle but this has been heart breaking for me and my family. So as I was saying I moved into my mother home to care for her she has lived in her home for over 10 years and has been with the same landlord for 20 years. We after being less than a month late on are rent 15 days to be exact we given an eviction notice and were told that they were unable to except rent due to the owner wanting to sell. They did offer to let us buy it for 120,000 dollars even though it is probably not worth half of that as it's a 30 plus year old trailer that hasn't been worked on EVER. I THINK THATS WHAT THEY COST NEW. Anyway I begged them to allow us extra time as I live with two disabled people and a minor and I am recovering from surgery on my arm myself from a severe break so obviously MOVING a 4 bedroom home wasnt gonna be something I could do by myself. They refused to give us the time we needed to pack and move so they came and evicted us. They threw Everything in the yard breaking irreplaceable and old things. They put pictures of ancestors and important papers in a bag and then dumped soda in the bags instead of dumping them out in the sink or putting them in a separate trash bag. Half cups of coffee that were on the sink to be washed were dumped into are belongings aswell. We had to sit there and watch and when my 68 year old mother said with tears please let me pack my grandma China the sheriff threatened to put her in the patrol car. .it was devastating for all of us. They thru my boyfriend's insulin in a bag and tossed it in the huge pile of all are belongings so we had to search all of them to find it. We also have 3 dogs and 5 cats. We lived in the country so these cats are always outside doing as they will so they were not easy to catch. One of them we had to put to sleep because she was very old and was refusing to eat and it was just too much for her. So long story short, we spent all of are pay check on hotels and the truck to go get are things out of the yard, we had 5 days to retrieve or it would be disposed of, storage shed to hold are things . We are unable to find a house at this time and are in need of help . We have been blessed to have the help of friends to the best of there ability thru this and so I am putting on my big girl pants and asking for help. It's not easy for me I'm sure alot of you can relate. This is quite an embarrassment for me to have to tell this story that is my life at the moment. Homelessness is not something that you ever think you will have to go thru but it is my reality and I am asking for some help. I'm asking for anything that you can spare to help out me and my family make this time go by just a little bit softer. I appreciate you taking time to read this and I wish you love and light. Namaste beautiful soul fam and friends. P.s. we have been to the V.A. as Bobby is a veteran, we have been to the shelters and the outreach program for the San Luis valley. I live in Alamosa, Colorado this is a poverty stricken area and there just isn't enough funds at this time. We do have help set for when a home does become available. We are looking for a 3-4 bedroom that will allow animals as they are like part of are family. Some people don't understand that and that's ok. We are in need of your help please and bless you all....Bree Gibson
