My mother Lisa, who works as a caregiver for a dementia patient has recently injured her foot. What started off as a small injury quickly turned into something more serious. Lisa’s diabetes has made it almost impossible for her foot to heal, even after multiple doses of antibiotics, she is currently being administered antibiotics through an iv that runs in her arm and through the vein above her heart. The infection has now spread to the bone in her second toe on right foot and the doctors strongly suggest she gets the toe removed before the infection spreads and she loses her foot or it become fatal. Unfortunately surgery is being pushed off as she needs to work to pay her bills. All money donated would go towards paying her living expenses during her recovery.
