UPDATE: Mamas has seen two additional vets for second opinions. X-rays, bloodwork, and fluids. The mass in her stomach has went down tremendously, they no longer believe she'll need emergency surgery. She will need to be seen more frequently for check ups. If you can continue to share, it would greatly help. No donation will go unnoticed, anything helps, big or small. I truly appreciate everyone who has reached out, and the outpour of love Mamas has received during this time.
This is Asher (aka Mamas). She is 2.5 years old. A couple of days ago, I noticed she had been puking almost solid food with hairballs. I kept my eye on it, but ultimately believed it would resolve on its own. Unfortunately, it did not. She was beginning to uncontrollably diarrhea on herself on top of puking. I rushed her to the emergency vet, where they performed bloodwork, X-rays, and gave her fluids.
I ended up getting the X-rays back, and my worst fear came true. She had a blockage. They couldn't tell me what it was other than there was a lot of it. I was then handed a $6k estimate for surgery, or possibly lose her.
My heart shattered.
I adopted her in June of 2023 at 4 months old. On her bio, they had put she was hostile towards humans and really was meant for a multi-cat home. When I met her, that statement became untrue. She wouldn't let me put her down. The shelter was baffled. She's been my little sidekick ever since.
It breaks my heart to be in this position, and I know many others are in the same boat, living paycheck to paycheck, just trying to make ends meet. If you can donate, I would be so very grateful. Anyone who knows me personally calls me the crazy cat lady. My kitties are my babies, and I would do anything for them.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Mamas. If you can't donate, please share! That helps just as much.
