It is with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news of a family we hold dear—Friends of ours, a family of six, has lost their home to a devastating fire today. This family, consisting of four adults and two teenage boys, faced a nightmare when flames engulfed their house. Fortunately, the mom, dad, and their beloved dogs were the only ones at home during the incident.

We are immensely grateful to a vigilant VDOT employee who spotted the fire while driving by and intervened to rescue them from the back porch where they were trapped. In addition to losing their home, this family has lost everything they own, including their savings. They are now in urgent need of housing, clothing, shoes, and essential everyday items.
