Please Help The Cusack Family

As you may have heard my daughter and son in law-Emily and Timothy Cusack experienced a significant medical emergency with their 3 year old daughter, (my granddaughter) Vivian this past Thursday night August 17th.

Viv was found unresponsive after going to bed and was transported to the ER by Paramedics. She was later transported to Advent Children’s Hospital to receive higher level care.

During extensive testing it was determined she suffered a prolonged seizure with evidence of some effect to her Hippocampus of her brain. Although significant recovery of the seizure at her age is possible, this will hopefully occur over time. Her recovery will require a higher level of medical monitoring, neurological management and treatment as this episode has resulted in a diagnosis of Epilepsy which in this area of her brain affects memory, and retention. Although she is showing signs of recovery and her age and development of her brain is encouraging this will be a road travelled and only time will tell any lasting effects or recurring seizures. Ongoing medical care and monitoring equipment is not often covered by insurance and together with moving, starting a new job for Tim and the attention needed to provide for Viv and their 6 month old Declan, they are overwhelmed. Your help will assist them in setting up the care plan for Viv and assist with any non covered medical expenses. This young family is focussing on providing for their family and any help is truly greatly appreciated.
