Help the Embrey Family

Hi, my name is Sara Dobroth, and I am helping Genevieve Embrey raise funds to help the family not worry about expenses during this difficult time.

 

On December 19th, Genevieve, her son Ben and daughter Ava Embrey were loading their vehicle to head to Oregon for the Christmas, and they interrupted a man in their truck. As he fled, he fired multiple gunshots. Ben was shot twice. He’s currently in the ICU. We are asking for prayers for Ben due to his liver which continues to bleed and now possibly leaking bile. They are waiting to hear if surgery is needed to repair the liver. Another CT is planned for today. By the grace of God, Ava and Genevieve were not injured.

 

We don't want them to worry about finances while and healing Ben at the same time. Any amount of love sent their way will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Update….day started out with poor Hemoglobin numbers and a high heart rate. These are signs that his liver was bleeding. This caused them to stop giving Ben any food or water with the possibility of a surgery and another ct scan was ordered. Fortunately the ct scan showed there wasn’t any major bleeding but the liver was oozing some. This was anticipated. his pain was under control and I was able to bring him some Chic-fil-a for him to eat.
We are hoping this will be his last night in ICU and he will be moved to a regular room tomorrow. Ben is in good spirits and just wants to go home but he does realize that he has a long road ahead of him.
It has been an emotional rollercoaster for Gen, Ava, and I. Words cannot describe how thankful we are for the numerous calls, texts, offer of help and prayers. Sunrise medical staff has been wonderful to Ben.
We are still remaining cautiously optimistic that he will continue to improve. Thank you all!!!
