Hi, as most of you already know Kobi-jai under went multiple procedures to help with the benefit of the comfort of his eyes and to fight to be able to have any type of vision possible. For those who are new here this is his page and you’ll find all the information you need about Kobi-jai.
Unfortunately Thursday we had some really bad news that Kobi’s corneas from his transplants in both eyes have rejected. This came as a massive shock to us as a family, as we just wanted this to be over for Kobi. But unfortunately it didn’t play out like that and here we are. We’ve been giving some medication to hopefully reverse the rejection, we are praying this works but there’s a chance it can cause discomfort for Kobi and not work, but it’s a chance we are willing to take. If the corneas don’t clear then unfortunately Kobi has to have both removed and new ones replaced. This is a long progress and it certainly isn’t cheap, as this whole process has had to be done privately. So far we’ve spent over £50,000 on both eyes and all the operations/appointments that’s come along with it. To think we might have to go through all this again is devestating. For the last 2 years we fundraised and everyone came together, which we couldn’t be more appreciative of. Without the help and support of everyone Kobi wouldn’t have been able to have any of these procedures done and would still be in a state of discomfort. So for that we thank you all so much. We as a family can’t believe we are back in this position again.
We are coming up with ideas to help fundraise for Kobi and would be highly grateful if anyone had any suggestions or could donate. It certainly doesn’t need to be a lot as little and affordable as possible as we understand living circumstances these days aren’t easy. Again from all of us, thank you all so much for your continued support and your kind messages along this journey with us. We honestly don’t know where we’d be without the help of everyone coming together.
Myself (mam) and Kobi’s grandfather will be doing the Cardiff Half marathon in October. We are running it for Kobi and he’ll be crossing that finishing line with us. We would be highly grateful if anyone would like to donate to help sponsor us. All donations will be going towards all of Kobi’s treatments and appointments. Thank you
As many of you are aware we had a go fund me set up but as this is our second round of treatments we’ve decided to delete that one and start fresh, with an up to date explanation of what’s going on and new photos of Kobi-jai.
If you’ll kindly share this post it would be appreciated. Thank you all so much
