Hi everyone,
This is incredibly embarrassing but we are just not sure what else to do. Loki is our buddy and pretty much our child. He will be turning 5 on Feb 24th! He started acting sick on Monday night with diarrhea and vomiting. This continued Tuesday. We withheld food and let his tummy calm down with what we hoped was just a quick thing. We have him some rice Tuesday night after he was feeling a little better to help bind him up. He vomited a little Tuesday night but overall Wednesday he was ok and getting better. Rice and fresh chicken for dinner Wednesday and he was doing good. Thursday early morning he woke us up vomiting again. Diarrhea also returned. We called the vet and they suggested he might have a blockage. We brought him in and did xrays and did not see a blockage per sei but did see a gas pocket in small intestine that could be a blockage. Special food and some meds with instructions of if he vomits at all Friday he needs hospital. Well we woke up to him vomiting again today. We rushed to the hospital and they admitted him right away for xrays and most likely exploratory surgery. Xrays showed the pocket of gas had moved which could be a good sign. However they need to keep him overnight with iv medication and supervision. They will feed him and it is a wait and see if he can keep anything down. Then tomorrow would be surgery if he can not. As you can imagine the tally for what this cost is quickly piling up. The vet on Thursday was $1,150 and just to get him admitted for overnight care at the hospital today required a 50% deposit or $1,300. That is just based off of the estimate that he will be released in 24 hours. It could end up being far higher. We will max out as many credit cards as it takes to save our boy and get him better. However, if anyone has anything at all to help us we would be forever grateful. Anything helps. We are pretty much emotional wrecks right now. Anyone that really knows me, knows that I bawl my eyes out just thinking of the movie Marley & Me! I cannot lose my boy, he is our best friend. Please help us in anyway that you can.
