Help Overcome Cancer and Financial Strain

Those of you who know me, know I absolutely hate asking for help. The past 6 months have been a lot, and well, here I am...

February 27th I had surgery to remove a 17cm mass, and was to be on medical leave to heal for 6 weeks. Easy enough, except when the test results came back, it was cancer. Ewing Sarcoma. A rare type of bone cancer, even more rare since it developed in the soft tissues of my lower stomach. We found out that even if it was completely gone, the likelyhood of it coming back were pretty good and I'd have to undergo chemo either way.

We talked about the possibility of still having children someday and the how the meds would affect all of that. It was decided I would undergo fertility treatments in the hopes of retrieving eggs to freeze. We ultimately had to pause that because I would need another surgery to remove a fibroid that was too risky at that time. We instead opted to go with hormone therapy that would put my ovaries to sleep while in chemo.

My specific chemo regimen consists of 5 different, super strong medicines, as well as at home growth factor shots and half a pharmacy of anti-nausea meds, etc. I started my cycles, and was told I would have to be on medical leave until at least October.

If I can be honest, Chemo has been ROUGH, and more than once I've wondered if it's even worth it. It's been several months now, and I've only successfully had 4 cycles. I've also had 3 blood/platelet transfusions and been hospitalized twice for Neutropenic Fever. This last cycle, we had to push back again. Despite feeling pretty good, my platelet count was not high enough for my oncologist to be comfortable with my undergoing treatment. So we will try again next week.

At this point, we are just trying to get through each treatment, and don't really have any idea on when I'll be able to finish up and possibly go back to work. I've applied for long term disability through my job, and for regular disability as well during this time, and they are still under review. I've been extremely blessed to be basically ok during this time off, but between bills, medical, and day to day expenses finances are running extremely low. Any and all help, thoughts and prayers during this time would be extremely appreciated.
