Uncle Dan was diagnosed with heart failure about 5 1/2 years ago. Multiple trips to Syracuse and Boston, but they still couldn't keep him at bay. Fast forward to just before covid, he went for a second opinion, which then lead him to be transferred to the heart failure clinic in Rochester. He went in for a consult and came out with the plan for more testing which then lead to an LVAD. For those who don't know, this is a pump that ran his heart off batteries for the past 3 1/2 years. He took it in strides and still kept busy. Family time meaning the most to him. Uncle Dan went on the heart transplant list September of 2022 being told the chances of him getting a heart anytime soon weren't very high BUT he did the work up anyways. On the night of 11/9/2023 uncle Dan got the call that they had a heart available for him and he said yes. On 11/10/2023 he under went a heart
transplant that lasted 14 hours. He is still in ICU currently and making good progress. It has been a long hard road, and his family has been by his side every step of the way.
They are the most giving and selfless family who would give you the shirt off their back.
A prayer is as good as a dollar. We appreciate you all ❤️
