Support Mark's Battle Against Lung Cancer
Donation protected
In May 2024 my father, Mark, was admitted to Falmouth Hospital for shortness of breath. They discovered pneumonia, 3 liters of fluid and a tumor. Over the summer he was diagnosed with Stage IV non small cell lung cancer, which is inoperable and incurable. Treatment started in August and while he is responding well, he continues to fight. Due to the toll, both physically and mentally, that this is taking on both my parents, they made the difficult decision to close their business. The food truck, Cracked, at Bayview Campground was thriving but it is just too much for the two of them to maintain. Then my mother lost her job in the Worcester School system because when it rains, it pours.
Both of my parents are very proud people who have always worked for everything they got. These circumstances have forced them to seek assistance but they've had very limited success. Many of our wonderful friends and family have reached out, asking what they could do to help, which prompted the creation of this Go Fund Me. They need help. Your endless love and support via social media, texts and phone calls is outstanding. Unfortunately, they are struggling to make ends meet. A donation of any amount is HUGELY appreciated. These funds will be turned into gift cards for gas and groceries, paid directly to the oil company, cell phone bill and electric company, mortgage... etc.
At this time, my parents are unaware of the creation of this Go Fund Me, because they would be uncomfortable asking for 'charity'. I believe that they have spent their lives supporting the community as a fire fighter, daycare provider, para for special needs kids and 35+ years at the Devereux School so it is time for them to allow their community to support them. I encourage everyone to donate anonymously and specify what you would like the funds to go towards if you'd like.
From my brother, sister, parents and myself... Thank you and we love you.
