My name is Mickie Thomas. Our daughter in law and our son really need help right now. Leigh has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. This amazing young family has four children and Leigh is an incredible mom that needs to stick around for a long time to raise her small children.

Leigh’s inspiration for her career in healthcare is from her experience with cancer when she was only ten. She was grateful for the wonderful care she received at that time and always aspired to provide the same level of care for her patients as a nurse and a newly graduated Nurse Practitioner. She has always been a caretaker and now she’s the one who needs care.

We are trying to raise funds to make sure she can just worry about getting well. The money would be for medical expenses and equipment, groceries for a family of six, daycare so my son can be with his wife during treatment. Leigh is also the main breadwinner for the family, supplement for lost income during her treatment is important.

Justin and Leigh are very independent and they really don’t ask for anything in normal circumstances but this has hit us all pretty hard. The whole thing is heartbreaking for our whole family and we just want to see this beautiful lady healthy again. I’m writing this with tears because our six year old grandson wanted to call 911 to help his mommy. Thank you for anything you can give, it all helps.
