Honoring Lucas and supporting the VanDyke family

Lucas was born on December 15th 2022 and shortly after birth was diagnosed with ARPKD, a genetic kidney disease. He fought and lived through a long hospital stay, numerous surgeries and complications with a smile on his face. Ultimately after a long battle Lucas passed away on Wednesday May 31st 2023 at 4:50am.

Prior to his birth Kira was hospitalized on Halloween night due to pregnancy complications. Jon and Kira remained living in hospitals from Halloween until his passing this May. Due to the complexity of everything going on with Lucas and becoming a full time caregiver, Kira had to quit her job. Jon continued to drive back and forth everyday to work to try and make ends meet, when he wasn't working he was at the hospital also taking care of Lucas.

The family is devastated and attempting to move forward not only emotionally but financially. In the midst of the loss they are overwhelmed with medical bills and funeral expenses. They are incredibly thankful for the support as they try to cope during this tradgedy.
