Help Amanda fight and win this battle We recently received some devastating news. My sister Amanda Lewandowski who is 35 has two children Alexis who is 16 and Kaleb who is 12. She lives in a small town in southern Wisconsin and is about to embark on a fight for her life. For the last 2 years she has had many struggles and has spent a lot of time going from doctor to doctor telling them the same information with the same symptoms only to be sent away with no answers or told she has a mental illness. After hearing this over and over again she began to feel crazy! But the symptoms were not just in my head.  Her body was fighting a battle none of us knew about. It seemed as if no one was listening to her concerns. Now the fatigue, the pain, and worry has made it extremely hard for her to take care of herself and her two children. November 2019 she went to the doctor to discuss a possible hernia repair. Doctor ordered a CT scan of the pelvic area. Ct showed 2 fairly large cysts on her ovaries and enlarged lymph node in the goin area. She had made the decision to remove the lymph node instead of doing testing first. January 2020 the lymph node was removed. The results were devastating! She has Squamous Cell Carcinoma. She then seen her primary doctor and then the Oncologist. The Oncologist explained that this type of cancer does not start in the lymph nodes meaning it had started some where else in her body and metastasized. Monday she will be having another procedure and additional testing to find where the cancer originated from. We were told with this type of cancer and where it has spread she is at a stage 3-4. Now because she has not been able to take care of herself, her children or work she is going to need help with medical and living expenses. She has a lot of emotional support from family, however the financial burden is weighing on her heavily. She has to travel over an hour one way for doctor appointments, testing, scans, and within the next few weeks treatment which consist of radiation and chemotherapy. The financial part of the is in need of immediate help. Additional donations of organic personal items, gas cards, extra medical expenses, life essentials for the kids, support, education,and as always prayers.   Don't hesitate to share your story.
