Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I'm raising funds for my very good friend, Amy Von Deylen. Amy is a school teacher and dance teacher, who contracted Lyme Disease approximately 5 years ago, or that is when she started exhibiting symptoms. Lyme Disease is a very complex disease, hard to diagnose and even harder to treat. She has undergone many testing and treatments over the past 5 years. Recently, she has started more intensive treatment, including IV infusions at home through a port - three different antibiotics through the week and daily fluids. She spends a minimum of 3 hours per day, Monday through Friday, hooked up to an IV. She is also on medications to control blood pressure from the POTS, supplements and vitamins to promote the immune system and detoxification, and medications to deal with mast cell activation issues which occurs when her system overreacts to things she was not previously allergic to. She also developed vision issues, resulting in a lazy eye. Lyme Disease impacts all areas of the body - physical, mental, neurological, etc.
Due to the intensity of her treatments, she has to take a leave of absence from her work. This was a very difficult decision for Amy but highly recommended by the medical professionals involved in her care. Amy is a hardworking, independent woman with a big heart for animals and people. She is in need of assistance with past and present medical bills, as well as day to day bills while she takes a leave of absence. So, please consider helping her out while she takes care of her physical and mental wellbeing.
