A Safer Relocation for Family
Donation protected
I am raising money to move my family to a safer neighborhood after an almost deadly confrontation my husband experienced.
Two weeks ago, my husband was followed home and immediently held at gunpoint after getting out of his car. He had a revolver to his head while another was pointed at him from a distance. He was told to lie on ground, with a gun still to his head, while they removed the keys to our house and car, his wallet and his phone from his pockets. While he was still on the ground, one of the 3 guys tried to start our car. Sense it was stick shift, they could not get it started, so they had him get up and start it. Once he started it, they again put the gun to his head and had him walk into the woods behind our residence, while being followed by another guy with a gun from a distance. They walked deep into the woods until the third guy came back saying that he needed my husband again because the guy stalled our vehicle, and my husband needed to start it again. They walked out of the woods and my husband again started the car. At this point, 15 minutes had past and a man from the vehicle they drove in with was yelling, saying that's its taken too long and that they had to leave. They pointed their guns at my husband while they got in their car and told him to run into the woods because they were still going to shoot him. He ran and hid behind a tree and stayed there for about 5 minutes after they left to make sure they weren't still there. My husband wasn't supposed to walk out of those woods. If it wasn't for our car, he wouldn't have. The story is a lot more graphic then what words can describe. Words can't explain the feeling of knowing that your going to die and that your leaving behind 3 young children and and a wife.
We are currently living at a different location, but its only temporary. The apartment complex refuses to break our lease. What scares us about moving back is the fact that we were possibly being watched. That ironically they appeared at the same time he comes home almost every night. They were most likely residing in the same neighborhood. They told him that he wouldn't be seeing kids, which is also strange seeing that we only have a car seat in the car, but I do have 2 young kids and another soon to arrive in January. But even if they weren't watching us, the fact that pictures of my family is on the phone they took, makes me nervous. The fact that they still have the key to our car also makes nervous. Its just not an environment a mother with soon to be three kids, would want to subject her kids too...again.
So to the reason I'm trying to raise money. The apartment complex refuse to break our lease. The options we have are either continue to look elsewhere for a safer residence but pay rent in 2 places or move back and hope that this doesn't happen again and watch our back. A few months prior to our story the exact same thing happened only 2 building down from us. The property manager told me she wont break the lease because crime does not have an address, but according to the poilce and inncodents that have happened in our complex, crime does have an address, and its the apartments she manages. Now these people are leaving threatening messages on our house phone speaking of coming back, and how they are trying to find my husband by driving in the complex. They call everyday, but from a private number. We are in the process of trying to track the number. We told the manager this and she simply says that it is a personal issue.
My goal is to get enouph money to get out of this situation. I want to start over fresh, finacially stable and in a safe place elsewhere in time for the arrival of our baby. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to pay the termination fee as well as pay for a new place to live. I also dont have the money to pay rent in a new place as well as pay monthly rent for the apartment were trying to move out of, and if I cant pay the fee, that is exactly what I will have to do until they rent it out to someone else. Or we just move back. It breaks my heart knowing that in the end, I might have to bring my children back to that place where everyday we will fear what will happen next. It hurts me knowing that if we move back, my husband will be fearing for his life every single night, not knowing if he will be face to face with a gun again. This experience has really effected him. The sight of baby clothes breaks him. I don't know if these people were watching us, but I will assume the worst and I'll even go to the extent to say that of we move back, they will somehow find out and return. Its hard not to think the worst and its hard to assume that it won't happen again.
I'm asking for help because I need to make sure my family is safe. I need to somehow get the money to pay the fee so I can break the lease and live elsewhere where its safer and where we don't need to be looking over our back every minute. For those of you reading this and willing to help it will come back on you in such a positive way. For every act of kindness, an act of kindness is returned. Thank you for reading my story and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
