I am a married, working mother of 2 beautiful girls. Unfortunately, 4 out of 4 in my household suffer from chronic illness that requires regular medical treatment. I am off work and just recently, after fighting for months, got my long term disability benefits through my employer, which is just a fraction of what I was earning. The healthcare system has failed us, and our medical copays are currently $2000 a month, and this is without getting all the care that we need. I am on the phone for multiple hours daily with insurance and doctors trying to get procedures approved that we need as well as testing that we need, most of the time failing to get anything accomplished. We really didn’t want it to come to having to ask for help, but it’s just the situation we are in. Our girls are our world, and we want to do everything we can to provide for them, and at this point, we feel like we are falling short. Anything is appreciated as anything helps, and this is an ongoing battle.
