My name is Cameron, but I go by Boojeebus on Twitch and YouTube. I'm making this GoFundMe because my mom has been experiencing significant female-specific health issues recently--a lot of pain, discomfort, and urinary issues. She was referred to a specialist where it became immediately obvious what the source of the issue was following a physical exam. She has a 4cm, golf ball-sized mass. Following the results of a lab test, she had to be referred to another specialist, who is also a surgeon, for a biopsy of the mass, and she saw him on August 20th. We now have the results of that biopsy... and she has cervical adenocarcinoma (aka cervical cancer). There are 2 main types of cervical cancer, and hers is the less common one. First, she will have to have a PET scan to ensure it hasn't spread anywhere else. After that, assuming it hasn't spread, she will have to undergo 30 straight days of radiation and chemotherapy to shrink the mass, which she'll have to drive an hour to get to every day, then another more invasive round of radiation with the surgeon specialist at his out-of-town facility over the course of 3-ish weeks. She will miss a ton of money in income from her job because she doesn't get paid leave. Her doctor has reassured her that this is curable, but a cancer diagnosis isn't an easy pill for anyone to swallow, and it's going to be a long, hard, and emotional road ahead. My mother has taken care of me my whole life--dedicating so much time, money, and emotional support to help with my own chronic illness issues. I want to be able to help her out for a change.
