Imagine for a moment how hard it must be as a single mother, raising a teenager. Now imagine doing so after losing all of your possessions except the clothes on your back, your purse, cell phone and your car. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to Gayle Green on Sunday, May 6, 2018, when her home was destroyed by fire and the resulting smoke and water damage. Fortunately, Gayle and her daughter Jada were able to make it out of the home with their pets, but very little else. As a parent, it is difficult to imagine the shock of losing everything you have worked so hard to obtain, not to mention items that mean the most, such as family photos and presents/artwork from your children. It would be just as hard to lose everything as a teenager--wardrobe, books, school work, makeup, laptop, shoes, pictures of your friends, jewelry, everything gone.
But losing everything is only half of the agony; you would also have to face the grim reality of starting over, buying everything one needs to live, while continuing to work or attend school.
It is impossible to know what their insurance may or may not cover 5, 6 or 9 months down the road. What is known is that Gayle and Jada need all the help they can get now. This gofundme is being set up without their knowledge but we have no doubt they will be truly thankful for whatever assistance that you can provide.
