Dear good people,
My name is Seila and I am from Bosnia. You may heard of this country before, and usually the news were not so good. For the last 20 years, my country has been struggling. The reason is not only because of the war. It is because of inconsiderate people leading the country to a complete disaster. The last disaster that has struck my country just couple of days ago was not due to war, or due to demonstrations or due to the extremely poor politics and corruption. My country was severely flooded with a heavy rainfall that hasn’t been witnessed ever before. We proud ourselves on all the beautiful rivers we have, and those rivers have turned against us. After the severe floods, all known and unknown landslides have been activated, burying people, animals, houses, lives. To make the story even more horrifying, all the minefields left from the recent war are also on the move. None of those people have insurance, most of them do not have a job, a lot of them have lost their loved ones during the war and since then have been struggling. Bosnia is a divided country, we have three presidents to represent three different religions. We use to kill each other just 20 years ago because of that religion, and yet I never met anyone who is truly religious. I have friends in both parts of Bosnia and they told me that people are finally helping each other, no one cares about religion anymore. So I want to help Bosnians. I do not care what is their religion or are they from The Srpska Republic or Federation of Bosnia, I want to help Bosnians from Bosnia. With no one to trust, where even the non-profit organisations are corrupted and divided, I was getting quite desperate. Since the Bosnian tragedy happened, I’ve been trying to find an organisation that is not corrupted, doesn’t care about the religion, and that will help directly to those in need. And it took me some time, but I found an organization called “dobro”, meaning good, that consists of educated young people, who are fortunate enough to have a job. They all come from a different ethnic background. They pay a fee to be part of the organisation, and everything they do, they do for free. They do it because they want to help people, not because they will get paid for it. And in the country where unemployment rate is over 45%, these people are very hard to find. So please help. All of the donation will be transferred to their account and I am confident that all of the money will go only to those in need.
