Support Amy’s recovery from a stroke
Donation protected
On the morning of September 28 while working in the yard, I became dizzy. Feeling faint I got into the house where I fell to the floor, complaining of severe headache and arm pain. Thankfully, Jason was there and called 911. The EMTs came quickly loaded me into the ambulance and went to RVMC. After about nine hours of looking for the problem and MRI found that I was having a hemorrhagic stroke.
Quickly upon discovery, a life-flight was summoned to take me to OHSU where the best neurosurgeons in the state practice.
I was placed in the neuro intensive care unit where they worked to stabilize me.
Following a few angiograms, I had a craniotomy on October 3rd where an AV malformation within my skull was repaired to stop the bleeding. After a few days of observation, I was released and sent back to Medford.
Within three days of being at home, and little improvement, Jason took me back to the ER in Medford. On Friday October 11th, I was life flighted again back to Portland. It was just discovered that I developed bacterial meningitis, and a mystery infection.
On Sunday, October 13th I had a lumbar drain installed to drain the fluid collecting on my brain.
Wednesday, October 16th, the lumbar drain was clamped to determine if the swelling and infections have stopped or additional surgery.
All of these hospital interventions are happening at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland more than five hours from home in Medford, Oregon. Jason has been making trips back-and-forth trying to keep a sense of normalcy for the two kids at home.
I am a small business owner and this has taken a great amount time away from my ability to work.
Donations to my gofundme of any amount will help offset the extreme costs associated with two life-flights, two lengthy hospital stays, surgeries, multiple CT Scans and multiple MRIs, and hotel stays for Jason.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
