Annie has cancer and needs surgery
This 6 year old cutie has been my best friend since she was just 4 months old. I rescued her from a horrible situation in Dubuque, IA and we have been inseparable since.
Two weeks ago I took little Annie Boo to the vet for a skin break out and lumps on her leg and under her chin that have been getting larger over time. After a $300 visit and aspirations of the bumps we found out that she has two cancerous tumors and a skin infection.
She was put on antibiotics and steroids to get rid of the skin infection and we were told she would need surgery to remove the cancerous tumors and additional medications prior to the surgery.
The vet said that we need this surgery sooner than later in order to prolong her life and prevent the cancer from affecting her other organs and cause internal bleeding, and eventually a painful death.
With being in Nursing school and not working often, I am unable to afford this surgery, as it will cost almost $2,000 plus the medication for the treatment after surgery that will be long term and a recurring monthly cost. As well as the cost of frequent vet visits afterwards.
I know that I am asking a lot here and I don’t expect to get it all, but anything will help relieve the financial stress this has caused to try and prolong her otherwise happy and healthy life.
I never understood before when people said they love their dogs like their children until we learned this news. I’ve been devastated and I honestly can to imagine and never expected to have to lose my girl at this young of an age.
I am trying to do everything and anything I canto keep my sweet girl comfortable and in my life as long as possible, because she deserves it.
Please help me save her life..
