Morgan’s medical treatment.

DEAR READERS, I AM WRITING ON BEHALF OF OUR MUTUAL FRIEND AND HER FAMILY, NANCY MORGAN
My name is Michele Lucas, and I am sharing with you this development that I trust will affect you as it did me. Our dear friend Nancy Morgan has fallen ill, and the following is a summary of Nancy's plight. When I learned of this, I knew I wanted to do something to help her.
On December 13, 2022, Nancy lost her beloved brother, John, to squamous cell carcinoma. By the time the cancer was detected, it had metastasized throughout his body. So it was never known where it started or how long it had been spreading.
Less than a month later, in January 2023, Nancy went to her MD concerned about a swollen lymph node on the left side of her neck, and an immediate biopsy was scheduled, the results of which showed Nancy, too, had squamous cell carcinoma P16+ which indicated it was a head and neck cancer.
Every week since that diagnosis Nancy has undergone numerous tests - laryngoscopy, PET scan, CT scan, MRI, to name a few. None have determined w/ any confidence the primary site of the cancer. The hematologist/oncologist says "is not good news." Without a primary site, the radiation treatment cannot be narrowed to a specific spot. The remaining course is heavy doses of chemo, and this highly toxic process on many levels is worse than the disease.
Nancy on her own has researched options. She has reached out to her community for advice and guidance. Nancy is having to make some very difficult decisions. I am hoping we, as her extended community, can help Nancy emotionally and financially in this process.
Even with insurance, the medical costs to Nancy are mounting, now exceeding $7,000, which she has had to pay out of pocket. Medicare will be available to Nancy when she turns 65 in June. Any treatment, even then, will be costly to Nancy, and she has gotten the doctors' medical quote at $100,000 for the conventional methods (again, not knowing the cure).
Nancy has been exploring non-toxic healing methods and is steadfastly following a "cancer diet" to ensure she is nourishing herself, not the cancer; strengthening her immune system. Nancy also has been in dialogue w/ treatment team Hope4Cancer in Cancun, Mexico, as she is hoping for more guidance and options. Nancy is gaining knowledge, doing her homework, and spending time w/ her loving pooch Loki, and this is giving her strength and hope, but the unknown is a lingering fear. Nancy has said what keeps her up at night is worrying about the money to pay looming medical costs on treatment that is toxic and debilitating. The Cancun treatment center is an attractive and medically wise alternative.
This Go Fund Me page has been created to support Nancy's ability to enter Hope4Cancer's 3-wk intensive treatment program in April so she can strengthen herself on mind-body-spirit-sole levels thru May-June, when Nancy can utilize Medicare and either continue w/ Hope4Cancer protocol or - if later scans show a clear, primary site - consider conventional treatments.
The cost for the 3-wk Hope4Cancer program is $45,000, which includes accommodations. Nancy has airline miles she can use to get to and from Cancun.
If you would like to contribute any amount to reach the goal of $45,000, your contribution will be very warmly received.
Thank you!
