On May 16, while on a routine traffic stop my brother, Missouri City Police Officer Kenneth Lewis, was involved in a vehicle accident caused by an alleged drunk driver. In order to avoid being pinned between the cars and the railing, he was forced to make the quick decision to go over the railing. While he was trying to hold on, he quickly lost his grip and fell 20-30 feet down to the ground. After being taken to the hospital by life flight, he was found to have several injuries, including a torn aorta and broken pelvic bones. After having surgery for the torn aorta Officer Lewis was is in serious but stable condition.
