Help My Lebanese Friend After Accident Tragedy
Hello everyone, my name is Ian. I normally don’t do anything like this but someone that I hold very dearly to my heart, a dear friend of mine and her family - both who live in Lebanon need your urgent help.
On Friday, October 8, 2021, Lucy's family lost their primary source of income and a young man’s soul. Lucy family's sanitation truck was completely destroyed in a horrific accident.
The tragic traffic accident occurred in the southern Lebanese town of Ain Ebel, which resulted in the death of 14-year-old Jawad Hossam Bazzi and the injury of their employee Mahdi Bazzi. As mentioned in the article from bintjbeil.org, their employee and his younger brother, who are from the city of Bint Jbeil, were driving the sewage transporting truck and crashed into a wall from a sudden brakes failure. This overturned killing 14 year old Jawad instantly. But gladly, their employee, Mahdi, was midly wounded and is now safe. Other than losing their primary income, they also lost a young soul and a friend who had a bright future and a lot of potential.

We can estimate the damages to be $25,000 USD to replace the truck or at least cover the losses. That's around 500,000,000 LL (Lebanese pound) if not more, that's a lot of money in Lebanon and is hard to obtain. It will be hard for them to get back what they lost but I'm trying to get them any help or compensation, as it'll really make a difference.
As many of you are unaware of the situation in Lebanon. There have been a major economical decline that grows worse and worse by the day. The lebanese pound currency has declined immensely, and has lost its worth, as it's approximately 14 times lower in value.
The prices have heightened and the salaries remain roughly around the same, while three quarters of the population now live in poverty.
Basic needs have been deprived, electricity shortage, near unavailability to WiFi, very high prices for fuel, gas, food, clothes... shortage of medications, and so much more that we tend to take for granted on a daily basis.
And now without their main source of income, Lucy and her family are in fear of losing their belongings, and being able to get basic necessities and needs.
I created this GoFundMe page to help a family in need and for someone who has done nothing but given my life so much.
I understand in a difficult time we’re all facing within the COVID pandemic, all I ask is for any donation possible, big or small. Your donation will help towards getting my friend and her family back what they had lost and back on their feet towards the unseeing future.
Please feel free to share this GoFundMe page on your social media, with friends, family, whoever.
