Dad’s Road to Recovery
My dad Sean Raimo is only 53. An outstanding member of the medical community with over 30 years of service in Emergency Medicine, his role as a caregiver has been flipped.
Dad recently suffered a major heart attack.
The wonderful medical team at Waterbury Hospital said if he waited a few more minutes, my brother Ethan and I would have lost our dad. He needed an emergency stent and quadruple bypass all in the same week... so severe.
He has served as an ER nurse at Waterbury Hospital, Midstate Medical Center, Bradley Memorial, and now cares for the kids at Ana Grace school grades K-5. He was a paramedic for Campion Ambulance and a combat medic for the National Guard. My father is truly incredible. He received a Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence and worked tirelessly throughout the COVID epidemic... he caught COVID-19 at work and was in ICU for weeks.
Anyone who knows my dad says what a wonderful, funny, lighthearted, incredibly smart caregiver he is. Now he’s on the other side and needs help.
Any little bit would help pay off some of my dad’s medical expenses. We’re trying to get him on his feet, but healing isn’t linear. It takes a lot for us to ask for help, and any kindness is appreciated.
Thank you for supporting my daddy, and giving back to a pillar of the medical community after years of dedicated service.
Sincerely and Gratefully,
Becca Raimo
