Send Marny on Mission

Donation protected
This summer, I have two incredible opportunities to go on mission to Mexico and Kenya. I also plan on spending this coming fall in Louisville, KY, completing YWAM training and then spending two months on mission overseas as opposed to attending a normal University.

I've always felt compelled towards the nations. I've had wanderlust for as long as I can remember. I have dreams of hiking the whole Great Wall of China and I even thought I wanted to be an astronaut in Kindergarten. It was 7th grade when I felt my first sure call to international missions. In 2011, I got to go to Jamaica on mission with my youth group. There we built two houses, visited an infirmary, laid a foundation for a third house and washed each other's feet. It never felt like I left the United States. This past summer, the reality of graduating high school hit. I had previously thought some about what I wanted to do when I'm done with high school, but I could never make up my mind. I went back and forth on various levels trying to figure out what to do after I graduate, but I could never find the peace I needed. One day when I was struggling more than most, I was scrolling through Facebook and ran across an ad for YWAM- Louisville. Out of curiosity, I clicked the link and ended up emailing Molly with no idea what I was doing. She replied rather quickly, telling me her story and explaining all that I needed to know with an insane amount of clarity. In addition, it did not matter what my pastor's message was on, missions was where my mind would go every single Sunday. After months of prayer, and rebellion and struggle and confusion and conversations and finally FULL surrender, I figured out YWAM is where God wants me in the fall. I cannot thank God enough for sticking with me like He did through these past few months and finally breaking me to the point of desiring NOTHING but Him.

YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission and they have a 5 month program called DTS (Discipleship Training School). During the first 3 months, I will be living in Louisville, participating in local mission work and learning about prayer, God's character, biblical relationships, spiritual warfare and how to effectively share the Gospel. The training phase, which starts September 21, 2014, is a total of $3,585.
Because of the way the Louisville base operates, the location and the cost of our overseas work is yet to be determined.

In Mexico, my team of high schoolers from my church and I will be staying at Big Heart Orphanage in Reynosa. There are many opportunities and ways of outreach we will have while there, from construction to street evangelism and sports outreach. I only need $235 by June 1 to have all the funds necessary to go on this trip! In Kenya, my team of 9 and I will be working with Tenwek Community Health and Development to reach the community through holistic ministry. We will visit the hospital they have there and have the chance to pray with the patients and help in any way possible. We will also participate in a Children's Rally hosted by the African Gospel Church before we leave and, God willing, see thousands of children come to know Christ. I need $1,715 by July 1 to go to Kenya.
Both of these trips have a focus on Children and raising awareness of impoverished situations, two things I have found a passion for. I have no doubt in my mind that God has called me to both of these short-term summer mission trips and to do YWAM this coming fall.

Not only is financial support necessary to make these trips possible, but prayer support is as well. Please prayerfully consider how you might become part of my journey, whether through financial support, prayer support, or both!

Feel free to contact me for any reason.

Thank you in advance!

With faith,

Marny Rey Ketcham

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." (2 Timothy 3:14-15, Proverbs 31:8-9, Philippians 3:8)
