Hi Friends!,

As many of you probably do not know, our friend Jen King was diagnosed with breast cancer on January 4th. Despite the difficult diagnosis, Jen has been prepping her mind and body over the last month and a half and is ready to fight! This journey is going to challenge her in many ways and she needs our help and support.

Jen's treatment plan is extensive, with two surgeons, an oncologist, a radiologist, a fertility specialist, and more on her team. She’s currently on several medications, some of which she’ll have to take for the next 10 years.

Jen's double mastectomy is scheduled for March 15th at Rose Hospital. It will be unknown until the surgery whether she will have to undergo radiation or chemotherapy, and whether she will be able to do reconstruction on the same day or have to wait 3 months for a second surgery. She will also have to do post-surgery rehabilitation, which insurance may or may not cover. There are still a lot of unknowns, but we’re hoping for the best outcome.

The road ahead will be long and challenging, but she is ready to fight with everything she has. I have set up a GoFundMe page in hopes that we can all help her with the costs of her treatment, medications, rehabilitation, insurance premiums, and surgeries. Any donations would be greatly appreciated (all will go directly to Jen and her medical expenses) as they would ease the financial burden on Jen and allow her to focus on healing and getting back to her life.
