Gerry’s recovery fund
Please help us raise the necessary funds to help Gerry and his family weather the rough road ahead.
Back in May Gerry had a terrible motorcycle accident that left him with a broken left arm that has required numerous skin grafts.
His leg injury has required 12” of staples in his leg and his left foot has some broken bones along with road rash on a large part of his body.
Gerry spent 6 days in the trauma burn unit due to the extent of his road rash injuries.
After returning home to recover from his injuries Gerry was dealt a set that returned him to the hospital for another operation on his arm after the incisions on his elbow opened up exposing the metal plate that was installed during his first surgery. This second arm surgery has required more skin grafts and a second wound pump installed to go along with the one in his leg to help his injuries mend.
Gerry is now home after another 10 day hospital stay that will require a PICC line for antibiotics to remain in is arm for 4 weeks due to the open elbow wound and hopefully this will get him back on the road to recovery.
He is so grateful & has said that God was with him during the accident.
His recovery and therapy will take months to return him to a normal life.
The doctors & nurses say he’s a miracle because most people have more head injuries & he had very little.
Gerry, his family and friends believe that the Oakley turtle shell backpack that he had just purchased and wearing at the time of the crash played a big part of keeping him from hitting his head & possibly causing more serious injuries.
We want to thank everyone who has been praying for him, the phone calls and visits.
Gerry’s family have been so amazing with being there for him & now that Gerrys home they have been so helpful to both Janine and Gerry.
Please keep praying for him & his family.
