Morgan Murphy formerly Nate Murphy died suddenly in Tucson, Arizona - Saturday, January 11 after a many year battle with addiction!
Morgan leaves behind three daughters Rhiannon age 25 and we have started this fund to help support the youngest of these girls - Molly age 14 and Lily age 10. 
Many people who loved Morgan, her ex-wife Gypsy and the family broadly have asked what they could do to help, and so we decided to set this up to give you all the opportunity to lessen the burden of caring for the girls alone and offer them something in Memorial in honor of their father who they will now never fully know!

At this time it seems the entire financial burden is falling on Morgan’s 25-year-old daughter who works as a waitress and her mother who already teaches at four different schools as an adjunct to support her younger daughters all on her own! 

We plan to use any extra  funds to travel to Newfoundland (homeland of her grandfather who raised her) this summer and scatter Morgan‘s ashes as per her request.

And anything left after that going to college fund for the girls something their father desperately wished they had and that she could’ve given it to them.  

All money goes directly to a bank account set up for them!

Morgan Murphy was a fundamentally good human being. Addiction absolutely is a disease, one that has taken too many from my life.
But this. This hurts so much deeper than anything I've been through.
Addiction took the person who helped my mother raise me since I was 6.
Addiction took one of the only people I could open up to and never feel like I was going to be judged for being human.
Addiction took the person I called Dad for most of my life.
Addiction took the person who drove me to school, who played with me, who encouraged my art, who gave me my sisters, and made friends wherever she went.
Morgan was also a transwoman. Unfortunately the statistic for transpeople having substance abuse problems due to rejection from family and other forms of hostility, violence, and aggression are astronomical.
When we fail to be graceful, mindful, and loving with our LGBT+ family, deceased or not, we are actively harming our loved ones and their memory. We disrespect those who would honor our loved ones.

Morgan deserves more. She deserves proper recognition for who she was.
Morgan was dynamic, creative, compassionate, goofy, ingenious, and unapologetically HERSELF.
Morgan was my parent.
She will always be in my heart, and in the hearts of all who had the delight of knowing her.
