UPDATE:It has been a grueling seven months since Elijah was diagnosed with a rare Triton Tumor. Radiation, chemo, blood draws, transfusions, and trips to Grand Rapids have marked our days with little reprieve.

Good news today, though! A CT scan revealed that Elijah's cancer has not spread and with that knowledge, we can call him in partial remission! Praise God!!!!

We have nine more chemo sessions and then we wrap this nightmare up for a spell ( hopefully forever). Elijah should be free and clear to start kindergarten in the fall.

A few complications have arisen...the tumor invaded Elijah's vascular system and liver, causing issues that will need to be addressed in the months to come. Chemo impacted his heart, causing irregular rhythms.

Goodness. We are tired. Tired of cancer. Tired of its complications. Tired of sweet Elijah feeling so tired and wrung out. Cancer is a shadow over his precious childhood. It's all so heavy.

Thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support as we navigate this path! We couldn't do it without you! The need is ongoing. We appreciate any contribution to the journey. You are helping support our household, and with gas, food, and lodging especially.

For everything...thank you. We love you.

Hello, my name is Nick Fiebig, and I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. My family and I have just been completely blind-sided by the absolute unthinkable...cancer.
On Saturday, September 16th, we had taken our 4 year old son, Elijah, into the ER in Cheboygan after several days of increasing fatigue and a suspicion of an ear infection after a cold last week. During the physical exam, no ear infection was noted, but the doctor ended up finding a mass in Elijah's upper left abdomen. More imaging and testing was conducted and Elijah was transferred down to Helen Devos in Grand Rapids. Currently, he will be facing a major surgery to remove the mass (the size of a small football), the removal of his left kidney from which the tumor stems, and port placement for a probable round of chemo. Additionally, Elijah had recently been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which is making an already challenging situation, much more difficult.
Any money donated will be used to assist with accruing medical, housing, food, and travel expenses, as I am off work to be with Elijah.

Any amount you may be willing to contribute would be greatly appreciated to get us thru this difficult time. If you aren't able to contribute at this time, a share with your friends and family would mean the world to us as well.
