The Day Everything Changed
February 24th, 2025, started like any other day, but it ended with our world falling apart.
Our 7-year-old son, Louie, suffered a major stroke.
We didn't know it then, but we wouldn’t be going home for a very long time.
For the next 85+ days—Ward L52 at Leeds General Infirmary became our entire world. It was a world of monitors, scans, and terrifying uncertainty. But it was also a place of miracles.
The Mission: February 24th, 2026
Exactly one year to the day since the stroke, I am taking on a challenge to honor Louie’s fight.
I will be walking the 18 miles from our home in Knottingley back to the front doors of Leeds General Infirmary.
I am walking to retrace the journey we took in the ambulance, but this time, I’m doing it on my own feet, with hope in my heart.
Where Your Donation Goes (The Care Package Fund)
When you spend 85+ days in a hospital chair, you learn exactly what families need.
We are raising funds to deliver Care Packages directly to Ward L52 and other children departments that were involved in Louie's recovery.
We are raising money for:
Sensory & Rehab Toys: To help other children find the fun in their recovery.
Parent Survival Kits: Toiletries, snacks, and essentials for the mums and dads who—like us—arrived in an emergency and didn’t leave for weeks.
Ward Support: Direct support for the unit that saves lives every day.
Please Help Us Give Back
Paediatric stroke is rare, but it happens.
For Louie. For the Ward. For the next family walking through those doors.
