Help Eric Hoffman in His Fight for Life
Donation protected
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My name is Dan Christianson. A couple of months ago, I found out that my close friend, Eric Hoffman, has cancer. Something no one ever thought could happen to someone close to you. Eric is a strong man who has been like a second brother to me. Eric has driven semi trucks across America for 30 plus years. Recently, he decided to stay closer to home and became a dispatcher for that same trucking company.
Things were going well until Eric became ill and decided to go to a clinic in December. Nothing would prepare him for the news he would receive. They did some tests and found a nodule on his lung. He was referred to the cancer center where they ran a PET Scan, which confirmed that he had stage 3a adenocarcinoma in the upper lobe of his left lung very near his heart. Eric’s faith has continued to bring him through the rough times. He knows that the Lord has a reason for this to happen. Eric has never once asked “why me?”, but instead has said “use me Lord”. His wish is to be able to continue to serve the Lord in the future, be a positive influence on everyone in his life for His Glory and Honor. God is the greatest physician and we are just a tool being used. The oncologists believe that Eric can be saved.
Eric’s oncologists ordered radiation 5-days a week for 6 weeks, and chemo 1 day a week for 6 weeks. April 23rd was his last chemo treatment and April 30th was his last radiation treatment. The good news is, they have already started to see the cancer shrinking. He will get a month off for his body to heal. After which time he will have another CAT scan to show where everything is at. It’s at that time he will begin immunotherapy treatment, once a month for 12 months, so he has a long road ahead of him. Eric has no idea that I have written this letter to share with you all. My heart is burdened for my brother in the Lord. I know he has needs, and I know God will meet them in the ways he sees fit, but I want to be used as a vessel to be a positive influence and help my brother in any way that I can, but I need your help. First and foremost, Eric needs our prayers, our encouragement, but also needs our financial support. With the chemo and radiation that he has been getting, Eric is suffering horrible, sometimes debilitating, coughing fits and has little to no voice. His left vocal chord is paralyzed, and he has a spot on it that requires a biopsy. He may also have developed some polyps in his throat, which will require ongoing medical care. This has left him unable to work as a dispatcher for his company.
Please consider helping our brother in Christ, Eric Hoffman. Pray for him, encourage him, and if you are able to send something, every little bit will help. A GoFundMe account has been set up here for Eric, or if you prefer, donations and cards can be sent directly to Eric at this address:
