Big B’s recovery❤️‍

As you all know Brandon has been in hospital suffering quite badly with his lungs. He has been poorly since Christmas Day, he never properly celebrated Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. The first time he went to a&e he was sent home with the flu. On the 28th December he was rushed down to resuscitation where they put a drain in his left lung, this is where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and strep a which made him very poorly. It gave us all a massive scare! On New Year’s Eve he was placed in intensive care, he was on 100% oxygen and could have been put in an induced coma But fought through it all like a true champ.
Brandon was sent home on the 5th of January with tablet antibiotics that is it. No appointments nothing. He got worse and worse being at home, struggling to breath, struggling to walk. On Friday 13th January he was rushed to a&e resuscitation unit again, this time to tell us that his right lung had filled up!
Brandon actually was diagnosed with empyema, if it’s left untreated then you have to have surgery to remove the build up of of pus within the pleural space between your lungs and chest cavity. Charlie actually had mention empyema to the doctor for him to tell her that Brandon had it as he just kept saying to her that he had only pneumonia. Why couldn’t the doctor mention this before?
Charlie also asked why it was now his right lung they were draining when last time it was the left and were they keeping an eye on the left? The doctors response was yes of course we are not concerned about his left lung.
19th January, Brandon is now in Leicester hospital. They had done scans/X-rays which turned out that both lungs were filling up with fluid still! The left was worse all because they were more focused on the right and not looking at the left lung in Northampton general.
He is due to have his big operation on the 28th January where they think they are going to have to make a cut to the chest to access the lungs and clean them that way as the right lung is now not expanding how it usually would.
Brandon’s fiancé Charlie has been amazing through all this, she has been so strong and honestly an amazing mum. She has two little girls with Brandon, He actually missed both of their birthdays due to being in hospital, which made charlie have to make their days extra special with out his help and she did a great job! She is back to work working 3 days a week trying to provide for them and having to find baby sitters for each of the days she is working. But as you could imagine it has been hard with Brandon being at home self employed not working and earning money. He will be out of work for a while to recover.

As a family we just wanted to pull together along with his friends to raise some money to make his recovery easier and to take the stress out of providing for his family.
A donation or even a share will make a huge difference to the family.
