Hey friends and fam!! It has been a dream of mine to open my own salon and become a full time entrepreneur. I started my career in 2015 working downtown in the Gold Coast and moved to Lincoln Park after the pandemic shut down. As much as I love working with skin and hair I had to take a break to shift my focus. For the last two years my husband and I have been working hard to get Mayambo dance studio off the ground and now that we’ve established ourselves we’re working to getting my business off the ground!
I have a passion for people and I’m so excited to create a warm and home-y environment where I can welcome both clients and members of the community who are unhoused for donated services. I believe everyone should have access to self-care services like a good shampoo and haircut and I am GEEKED to be able to offer it first hand.
The biggest cost will of course be all of the opening necessities like the inspection, licensing, construction and plumbing, because we all know a good shampoo is nothing without that good water pressure.
Then of course there’s products, towels, chairs, tools…. the list is endless so just know that ALL donations will definitely be used.
Any and all support is greatly appreciated. And a big thank you to those who have given me words of wisdom, encouragement, and faith in myself. Love to you all!
