Our beloved Dukins “Duke” Nelson recently passed on April 20th. Duke was a wonderful brother and friend who touched the lives of those around him.
To know Duke was to know the kindest, most explosive and charismatic souls you’ve ever met. If he wasn’t off doing something totally spontaneous, Duke was usually surrounded by people that he loved and loved him in return. Sharing stories of the past, catching up on life’s latest happenings and always laughing.
One thing constant in his life was his love for music. Duke was not the kind of person to say he loved music and move on to a different topic. His pursuit of success wasn’t always the smoothest road, but that couldn’t have deterred him if it wanted to. He had recently started a production company, Duke Nelson Visuals, and decided to go back to school to pursue his degree at the University of Florida. His determination is something everyone should strive to exemplify.
He handled life’s curveballs in such a way that was just uniquely Duke, always understanding that his actions had a ripple effect. He was incredibly thoughtful, putting others so far before himself was something he did without any hesitation. There will never be another person in this world that thought the way he did and loved the way only he could. He was one of a kind and will live on in the hearts of those he touched for the rest of their lives.
While we understand how difficult this time is for everyone in the world, we especially recognize Duke’s family and the hardship they’re enduring. Not only are they going through this global pandemic, they’re doing it without Duke, an extraordinarily bright light in their life. We’re asking that you consider donating what you can to honor Duke’s life. All proceeds will be placed directly in the hands of his family to do with it what they please. Thank you for taking the time to honor Duke’s life.
