Help My Mom Rebuild After Devastating House Fire – Half the House Burned, Everything Else Ruined by Smoke & Water
On November 28th, a terrifying fire tore through my mom’s house. Half of the home is completely burned and charred — walls, furniture, everything gone. The other half didn’t burn, but it’s just as destroyed: thick black smoke coated every surface, and the water used to put out the flames soaked everything else. When they were finally allowed back in with masks on, the smell was overwhelming and nothing is salvageable.
My mom, dad and step brother got out safely with the pets and the clothes on their backs, but that’s literally all they have left. Every single item in the house — clothes, beds, couches, kitchen dishes, family photos, kids’ toys, important papers — is either burned to ash or ruined forever by smoke and water damage. The house is currently unlivable.
They have to start completely over while figuring out the long road ahead to repair or rebuild the house.
We’re trying to help them cover the immediate essentials so they’re not drowning in stress on top of everything else:
- Temporary housing costs (hotel + eventual rent/deposit)
- New clothing and shoes for everyone (they literally have nothing to wear)
- Basic furniture once they find a new place (beds, couch, table)
- Kitchen and household basics (pots, plates, towels, toiletries)
- Replacing important documents and daily necessities
- Moving and storage fees for anything that might be saved
My mom has spent her whole life taking care of everyone else. Now we’re asking for help so she doesn’t have to face this nightmare alone.
No donation is too small — $10 buys socks or a meal, $25 helps replace a towel set or a couple of shirts. If you can’t give, please share this page with anyone who might. Every share helps.
Thank you so much!
