Lil Brother's Home Modifications
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Christine and our story is one of hope and sincere faith in something we can not see but feel deep in our souls. On July 29th my 34 year old brother was shot in the neck and left for dead. Miraculously, by the grace of God, after hours of intense surgery he survived. Although we will forever be grateful, the life Anwar knew just hours before had instantly changed . There are no words to describe the fear and helplessness that slowly suffocates you when you hear the dreaded news. My brother woke up days later, paralyzed from waist down.
Naturally, we were not prepared for this. The road to recovery is long but he has the will to take on and overcome all obstacles. We believe he will walk again some day but for now we have to focus on today. After countless hours on the internet searching for information about SCI (spinal cord injuries),
one of the many issues we face is regarding home modifications. After 4 weeks in ICU and CCU, Anwar is finally in a rehabilitaion center where he will spend the next 3 weeks gaining both physical and mental strength necessary to deal with day to day living. Soon after he will be discharged home. I am desperately appealing for your help in making my brother's transition to home as stress free as possible. Your contributions will be used to purchase 3 wheelchair ramps, install grab bars in bathrooms and hallways, install accessible lower sinks, roll in shower downstairs and other various accomodations to have a functional house that meets his needs. I will be forever indebted to you! God Bless
