Surviving Spouse

On Sunday, March 22 2020, the Lord called an amazing man to come to join his mother and father in Heaven. Al Gilstrap was doing a normal, everyday task of changing the air filter when he took a step back to take a picture of the filter size and fell in an opening in the ceiling that should have been covered by the builders. Al fell, hitting his head on the banister and then hitting again on the tile floor. My sister frantically called 911 and Al was taken to the hospital, where he would later succumb to his injuries.

Al and my sister had a fairytale love story. One that you see in movies except for even the love and bond in the movies wasn't this strong. They did everything together, not because of the thought of them having to but because they absolutely enjoyed the company of each other, it felt weird not doing anything together. I told my sister, it's one thing to feel love inside of you but its another thing to look at two people and you see the unconditional love that they have for one another.

The unexpected passing of Al has left an enormous hole in my sister's heart. Al was a huge source of income and they just moved into their new house, only being able to afford with help with Al's income. To add more to the stress of grieving for the love of her life, she was notified 2 days after his passing that she was being laid off of her job due to COVID-19.

My sister is not one to beg or even ask for help. She is strong, compassionate, and an amazing person. We know that one of Jessica's biggest fears is the fear of finances during this time. She knows that on her income alone they will not be able to stay in the home that Al and her had created. We would like to put this together to take this stress of the unknown off of Jessica's plate, this would allow her time to grieve and get her affairs in order. Please, if you can find it in your heart, help me help my sister so that she can grieve without having to stress out about any bills or rent that is coming.
