Supporting a family after a Severe Brain Stroke
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for your support in a time of great difficulty. Our beloved Naveen Kowkutla was unconscious on Aug 7th at his workplace around 9 AM, He has not been received any help until 7 PM and the delay caused his brain stroke blood clot to reach 75% starting from neck to his brain. He then received some help from his colleagues and got admitted to Northside Hospital Emergency. Upon initial screening (CT-Scan) the Doctors identified the criticality of the Stroke and immediately transferred to Grady Hospital via Helicopter.
Naveen is a dedicated father, loving husband, responsible brother, kind-hearted friend who believes in selfless service to the needy and the communities he lives in. Cooking is his passion, on several occasions, he served hundreds of people in the community with Indian food, always a delight to be around and always had a smile on his face with happy-go-lucky attitude toward life.
Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn when he suffered a brain stroke due to a blood clot in his neck, causing loss of speech, paralyzing his right arm and leg, leaving him fighting for his life, this twist in fate happened on Aug 7th, and has shaken our family, leaving us with emotional stress and financial burden that we never could have anticipated. He was working in a famous Indian restaurant in Dunwoody, Greater Atlanta Area with limited to no medical insurance to bank on and he is the only breadwinner. He is currently getting treatment at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, GA.
While the immediate surgical procedures such as Hemicraniectomy and EVD are being contemplated by health care professionals to get Naveen out of critical care, the medical journey to reclaim his life, re-gain his mobility and speech is long and daunting; comes with huge emotional burden, the road to recovery will be challenging, requiring to undergo speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and possible rehab. Praying God to give the family courage and fortitude to overcome these testing times, hoping for your generous contributions, support and help with the medical expenses that are adding to the emotional stress this situation has brought upon the family.

Naveen is fighting for his life (on a ventilator) one breath at a time; while his two beautiful children (12 and 14 years old) are watching him remotely from Hyderabad, his family is still in India while his wife is on the way to the United States to help, support, care for and be with him during these difficult times that may last for months and years before he completely recovers and gets back on his feet (hoping and praying)…
