Dear friends and friends of Villa Mozart,
We are sure most of you remember Oscar, our dear colleague, who worked so closely with us from the first day we opened Villa Mozart and with Reem several years earlier at il Cigno at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston.
Oscar always had a warm and welcoming smile for every guest during the 10+ years we were in Fairfax City. Oscar is like family, a big brother, a reliable and dependable worker who rarely missed a day of work for the last 18 years we have known him.
Oscar immigrated to the United States from El Salvador, learning English, accepting work where he could find it, raising and educating a family of three, and proudly earning his American citizenship. He rarely took vacation days and often worked double shifts and accepted extra hours to support and educate his three children. Nothing in the world is more important to him than family, and he dedicated his entire adult life to taking care of them.
And now Oscar and his wife and family need us.
Three weeks ago Oscar suffered a catastrophic heart attack. He had no prior symptoms of heart disease, nor did he complain about chest pains, but today he is in an induced coma in a cardiac unit in Fairfax fighting for his life.
His wife is without transportation or an income, his children have interrupted their lives and careers in New York, Florida and California to be here by his side, and the expenses of this devastating illness are piling up for this loving family
We are asking you to contribute to a special GoFundMe project for Oscar. We hope that the donations we raise here can mitigate some of the immediate financial pressures facing this proud man. All monies raised will go directly to Oscar’s family (his daughter Jazmin Campos being the beneficiary) to help pay mortgage, utilities, and the daily expenses of life in convalescence so they can continue focusing on helping him through the next grueling surgery and recovery period.
Oscar faces a long, difficult road ahead before he returns home to the life he cherishes and lives so well. Together, though, we can support him as he makes that journey.
